About. Gary Davies is still pinching himself. His childhood dream to work for BBC Radio not only came true, but it teed up a 40 year career in music. That career has now come full circle - as he returns to the BBC hosting Radio 2’s Sounds of the 80s Show. It has been 23 years since he left Radio 1, but the passion and knowledge remain undimmed.

Gary Davies’ induction into the Hall of Fame is a recognition for over 20 years of involvement in football as both a player and a coach. Born with acute cerebral palsy, Davies has played 85 times for the England Cerebral Palsy team and was captain of the side between 2005 and 2007. He has represented England across the world including in Brazil, Argentina, the USA and the Netherlands.
