All children are invited to attend the Year 7 Entrance Examination Day. This includes both new pupils to Hill House as well as those progressing from the Junior School. The examination consists of written papers in Verbal Reasoning (1hr), English comprehension and creative writing (1hr) and Maths (Questions and answers - 1hr).

Highgate Hill House School is a Special Educational Needs school situated on the Devon and Cornwall border at Whitstone, near Holsworthy. The school supports learners aged 5-16 with a wide range of additional needs, including Cognition and Learning, Communication and Interaction, Social and Emotional Mental Health, and Sensory and Physical.
Our Board of Governors. Our Governors include education experts, businesspeople, entrepreneurs and members of the professions. We have a policy of inviting new members who bring relevant specialisms to the school in areas such as human resources, buildings and facilities, finance, law, marketing, and health and safety.
An Outstanding Education. At Hill House we teach the traditional English curriculum, so that pupils are ready for the next stage of their academic career. In small classes we prepare pupils to sit entrance and scholarship examinations, ensuring they are working at an appropriate level to reach the senior school of their choice.
