The Royal College of Chemistry (RCC) was a college originally based on Oxford Street in central London, England. It operated between 1845 and 1872. It operated between 1845 and 1872. Why chemistry, why Imperial? As far back as the 1840s and our roots as the Royal College of Chemistry, we have always believed in the importance of a practical education. We believe that intensive laboratory experience not only teaches chemical techniques and scientific method, but also provides a framework for developing transferable skills.
Primary science investigations. Exciting, simple experiments to engage learners with key topics in primary science, featuring classroom slides, teaching notes and video demonstrations. Links to the resources in English, Welsh and Irish.
Various lab courses - run by lab coordinators - make up the modules. The laboratories and computer rooms are open for 6-12 hours (years 1 and 2) or approx. 25 hours (year 3) in lab weeks. This time is ample to complete the lab work, including keeping records, and for many labs there are scheduled pre-lab and post-lab sessions.
