In 1956 he cut his first record as a leader. Later he was one of the first bluesmen to have a multi-racial backing band at live performances.

   10. Feb. 2007 · Hide Away: The Best of Freddy King The Hideaway collection Cd is the best Freddie King CD. This is just the best live version of a blues-rock song ever recorded. I can't listen to it even today without thinking what a contribution Freddie could have made if he did not flame out. Every song is rock solid. This is one of those must own CD's.
