Comenzó su carrera en la década del 60 siendo un adolescente en bandas de garage y en 1967 forma Shocking Blue la cual será el bajista hasta 1972.Entre 1972 y 1974, formó la banda Antilope con la que lanzó tres sencillos y actuó en los Países Bajos y Alemania.
