In a career spanning over 30 years, he appeared in over 170 television shows and films, including Jailhouse Rock (1957), Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (1958) and In Cold Blood (1967). Spinal problems forced him to retire in 1976 and he died in 1983, aged 72.
