Kim Chapiron, francouzský režisér původem z Vietnamu, se nejprve věnoval ilustraci a grafice webových stran. Brzy však svoji pozornost obrátil k filmu. Díky práci v postprodukčním studiu se dostal až k realizaci svých krátkých snímků Tarubi, Arabova úžina (Tarubi, L'Arabe Strait, 2000) a Kozí bradka (La barbichette, 2002).
