Beasts of No Nation is a 2005 novel by the Nigerian-American author Uzodinma Iweala, that takes its title from Fela Kuti's 1989 album of the same name. The book won the 2005 Art Seidenbaum Award for First Fiction [4] and the Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers Award .
"Beasts of No Nation" basiert auf Uzodinma Iwealas Roman "Du sollst Bestie sein!" und wurde von Cary Joji Fukunaga selbst adaptiert, der zudem auch Regie, Produktion und Kamera übernahm. Was in den ersten Einführungsminuten noch ein wenig kitschig daherkommt, ändert schlagartig seinen Ton, nachdem die Regierungstruppen Agus Familie auseinander reißen und ihn ins Unheil treiben.
