"Y.M.C.A." had been a surprise for the group, because they thought of it as album filler until their producer hyped the song. So "In The Navy" was a continuation in their direction of being campier.
9. März 2008 · 'You´re in the Navy Now' es una correcta película, que no permanece en el recuerdo cinéfilo, pero es muy superior a la siguiente colaboración del tándem. Eso sí, añoramos films como 'Sueño de Amor Eterno' ( 'Peter Ibbetson' , 1935), probablemente la mejor colaboración de ambos, pero ahí ya hablamos de uno de esos films irrepetibles.

Its initial release was titled USS Teakettle. Directed by Henry Hathaway, the film is a comedy starring Gary Cooper as a new officer wanting duty at sea but who is instead assigned to an experimental project without much hope of success.
When Lt. John Harkness is assigned as the new skipper of a submarine chaser equipped with an experimental steam engine, he hopes that the U.S.S. Teakettle's veterans will afford him enough help to accomplish the ship's goals. Unfortunately, he finds the crew and its officers share his novice status or only have experience in diesel engines.
