Ghost-Cat of Arima Palace (怪猫有馬御殿) was directed by Ryohei Arai who directed another Bakeneko movie called Ghost of Saga Mansion. As I've mentioned in my previous reviews, during what I coined "folkloric era" of J-Horror (1940s-1960s) a smaller subgenre of movies began which feel like proto-slashers called Bakeneko movies.
