Telamon und Peleus waren Söhne von Aiakos. Dieser war Sohn von Zeus und Aigina, einer Geliebten des Zeus. Nach seinem Tode wurde Aiakos neben Minos und Rhadamanthys Richter in der Unterwelt. Beide Brüder nahmen an der Jagd des Meleagros nach dem Kalydonischen Eber teil und an Iasons Argonautenfahrt. Telamon war Gefährte von Herakles.
