  1. 6. Aug. 2020 · A recent innovation from an EPFL laboratory will enable, for the first time, mass production of standardized organoids. This breakthrough was achieved thanks to a customized guidance system that ensures homogenous cell culturing. Described in an article published today in Nature Biomedical Engineering, the technique paves the way for industrial uses, such as screening new drugs.

  3. 5. Mai 2023 · Elythor, an EPFL spin-off, has developed a new drone whose wing shape can adapt to wind conditions and flight position in real time, reducing the drone’s energy consumption. What’s more, the position of the wings can change, allowing the drone to fly vertically or horizontally. These features make it a perfect candidate for inspecting power plants.

Apr. 2021 · EPFL News | 25.04.2023 After two months of conservation and restoration work, Louis Braun’s monumental work, created in 1893 on some 1000 m2 of canvas, is about to being digitised. The process will generate the largest digital image ever created and will allow for unprecedented immersive and interactive viewing experiences.

  6. 8. Juni 2023 · Mohammad successfully defended his PhD thesis. 10.01.23 — Mohammad is the fifth PhD graduate of LAS. Co-advised by Prof. Nicola Marzari, Mohammad solved the ever elusive pathway of graphene oxidation showing step-by-step evolution of defects in graphene. We wish him all the best for his next position at Credit Suisse!
