Ronnie Carroll ( Belfast, 18 augustus 1934 – Londen, 13 april 2015) werd geboren als Ronald Cleghorn en was een Britse zanger en entertainer. Career. Carroll was born Ronald Cleghorn in 116 Roslyn Street, Belfast, Northern Ireland, in 1934, the son of a plumber. In January 1954, 19-year-old Ronnie Cleghorn was appearing in a variety show at the Town Hall, Portadown billed as Belfast's Nat King Cole and the show went on to play at several locations in Northern Ireland.
Ronnie Carroll was the stage name of Northern Irish singer Ronald Cleghorn who was popular during the 1950s and 1960s, scoring several hit singles. He first represented the United Kingdom in the Eurovision Song Contest 1962 in Luxembourg City with the song " Ring-A-Ding Girl ", which finished in joint 4th place with 10 points with the entry from Yugoslavia .
