The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute is the culmination of Lee Strasberg’s work. His students represent the 50 years Lee Strasberg spent training actors—from the Group Theatre in 1931, through the Actors Studio and the Institute until 1981, and beyond through the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute.
In celebration of the 50th Anniversary of The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute, we are privileged to name a new annual scholarship in honor of the legendary actress and humanitarian, Cicely Tyson.
We offer a multitude of special events, guest speakers, and full fledged productions throughout the year.

The Lee Strasberg Film Festival was founded by The Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute to encourage students to create and showcase their self-produced films. With seven successful installments, the Festival is open to all current students and alumni of LSTFI. Submissions for the 2025 Lee Strasberg Film Festival will open in January 2025.
