Carla Venita Thomas is an American singer known as the “Queen of Memphis Soul.” Thomas is most known for her performances for Atlantic and Stax in the 1960s, which included the successes “Gee Whiz (Look at His Eyes)” (1960), “B-A-B-Y” (1966), and “Tramp” (1967), which she performed with Otis Redding.
