38 Special (auch .38 Special oder Thirty-Eight Special genannt) ist eine US-amerikanische Rockband, die 1975 in Jacksonville, Florida gegründet wurde. NOTES: The Southern rockers, co-formed by Donnie Van Zant (brother of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Ronnie), had huge US commercial success with both of these albums making the Billboard Top 20 in 1981 and 1982. The singles ‘Caught Up In You’ and ‘Hold On Loosely’ were Top 30 hits. The band, with Donnie, are still performing and recording in 2012.
The next year Special Forces went Top 10 and sold another million plus albums making 38 Special rock stars. Now, BGO Records has released a CD that has both classic albums on one disk. The hits are all over this sucker including from Wild-Eyed Southern Boys there is “Hold on Loosely,” the title track and “Fantasy Girl.”
