Field Marshal, anoblissement, retraite. Il est nommé field marshal en 1919 et, le 7 octobre 1919, il est anobli en tant que vicomte Allenby, de Megiddo et de Felixstowe dans le comté de Suffolk. Il reste au Moyen-Orient comme Haut-Commissaire pour l'Égypte et le Soudan jusqu'en 1925, année de sa retraite.
