Aug. 2016 · Singer Michael Des Barres is a cult figure in music and acting, having combined a fairly successful career in both, and Nigel Harrison of Blondie also started his career in Silverhead. This series of releases by Cherry Red includes the entire Silverhead discography: the two released albums, Silverhead and 16 and Savaged , some single mixes, live tracks, and B-sides.

Sept. 2016 · Closing track ’16 And Savaged’s powerful drum battery and slick guitar lick perfectly complement Michael’s performance as, at last, he lets his voice rip, in obvious 7’’ single material. This is where the official LP ends, but the reissue extends to double the tracks, starting with a somewhat homoerotic tribute to the even then, much eulogised James Dean.

Mai 2023 · But along the way they produced two fantastic, classic albums (1972’s self-titled Silverhead and 1973’s totally debauched 16 & Savaged), plus a third, uncompleted masterpiece (Brutiful). Throughout, Des Barres led a totally hedonistic lifestyle but – unlike Heavy Metal Kids leader Gary Holton – he managed to avoid the Grim Reaper.

  7. Two Michael Des Barres solo tracks are also included, although the schmaltzy, chart focused slithers of "Leon" and "New Moon Tonight" lack the Silverhead punch. From there the final six bonuses are live takes of 16… album cuts. Although as with the bonus tracks on Silverhead, the quality alone ensures that only diehard fans will find all that much of interest, unfortunately.
