  3. Professional ratings. Icon is a studio album recorded and released by Asia band members John Wetton and Geoffrey Downes in 2005. It is the first in the Icon series (though they previously released the album Wetton Downes in 2002, a collection of demos from the 1980s). Icon was followed by the albums Icon II: Rubicon in 2006 and Icon 3 in 2009.

This release is part of a prestigious re-issue campaign which will see all of the band's studio and live albums re-released as definitive editions. This re-release is fully approved by Geoff Downes and the John Wetton Estate.

  7. Biography. Writer, Producer, Keyboardist, Icon. Born in Stockport, England, Geoff received his passion for music through a family connection; his father had been organist and choirmaster at a church in Stockport. Even before heading off to Leeds School of Music in 1971, it was obvious to family and friends that he had the making of a future star.
