Aug. 2023 · Oscar-winning filmmaker Brenda Chapman remembers getting the call in 1994 from former Disney head Jeffery Katzenberg, inviting her to join his newly formed DreamWorks Animation Studio for an ambitious mystery project. At the time, she was hard at work on storyboards for Disney's then-upcoming adaptation of The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
