During a botanical expedtion into the Himalayan Mountains, the lead sherpa discovers that, back home, his wife has been abducted by a yeti. He stages a mutiny and, in an effort to rescue his beloved, forces the expedtion to hunt for The Snow Creature. The yeti is located in a cavern, causes a cave-in that kills his mate and child, and is captured.
In a climax that recalls the film noir thriller He Walked by Night (1948) and Them! (1954, released the same year as The Snow Creature), the Yeti escapes into the Los Angeles sewer and is hunted down like a wild animal and shot.
