Unfortunately The Submarine Kid is a bit of a jumbled mess that thinks it's deeper than it really is. In reality it's just a mediocre drama with some half assed and badly structured ideas. Wittrock still gives a pretty good performance, I guess. Also bonus points for having a song by The Oh Hellos in the soundtrack.
