Bud Abbott (Harvey Korman) meets Lou Costello (Buddy Hackett) meet up and decide to become a team where they conquer vaudeville and then set their eyes on Hollywood. I grew up watching Abbott and Costello and it didn't take too long for me to go through each and every film that they made.
Bud and Lou (1978) Bud and Lou. “I’m a straight man. Not an actor”, Harvey Korman’s Bud Abbott tells Buddy Hackett’s Lou Costello. And while it may be true that Abbott was no actor, the same is equally true of Harvey Korman and Buddy Hackett. Therein lies one of the many problems with this biopic.
Chester Wooley (Lou Costello) and Duke Egan (Bud Abbott) are traveling salesmen who make a stopover in Wagon Gap, Montana en route to California. During the stopover, notorious criminal Fred Hawkins is murdered and the two are charged with the crime. They are quickly tried, convicted, and sentenced to die by hanging.

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello engaged in rapid-fire patter and knock-about slapstick, and they are regarded as the archetypal team of burlesque comedy. Abbott was a schemer, and Costello played a childlike patsy.
This movie crushed me as a child. I had always loved Bud Abbott and Lou Costello, watching their thirty-six films on Sunday mornings, right after Ma and Pa Kettle films.
