Having returned somewhat to the ethos of the Fender Bullet models of almost 40 years ago – though with a major upgrade in the overall veracity of both design and construction – Page has also created a range of John Page Classic models, manufactured in Japan under a licensing deal with Howard Swimmer, a former partner in the now-defunct Premier Builders Guild operation.
10. Aug. 2010 · One such individual is Captain John B. Page. Page was born in Maine in 1795 and became a lieutenant in the Federal Army in February of 1818. He was involved in implementing the "Indian Removal" policies of the government in the South, specifically with the Creek and Seminole peoples, for whose plight he expressed empathy in both word and deed.
John Page immigrated to Virginia in the 1650s along with his brother, Matthew Page, and sister. He built a home at Middle Plantation in the 1660s, which became Williamsburg. The portrait was painted in England. An inscription over 19th-century overpaint stated, “AE Suae 32 Ao Dom 1660 London.” It is unknown if this was a 19th-century copy of an original inscription or a 19th-century addition.

Mentored by Freddie Tavares, who helped Leo design the Stratocaster, he worked his way up from Fender's shop floor to end up running the Custom Shop - the so-called 'Dream Factory' - which he helped set up in 1987.
