Alexander Israel Helphand (born Sept. 8 [Aug. 27, Old Style], 1867, Berezino, Russia—died Dec. 12, 1924, Berlin) was a Russian- German socialist who helped enable Lenin to reenter Russia in 1917 from exile in Switzerland, thus helping to ignite the Russian Revolution of October 1917.
