The Curtis Institute of Music highly values a diverse international student body. Since its founding in 1924, Curtis has welcomed all applicants regardless of race, geographic origin, religious background, socio-economic level, gender, or sexual orientation. Admission is a two-step process: applying and auditioning.
Bachelor of Music. The Bachelor of Music degree is given upon completion of a minimum of 133 semester hours (s.h.), as outlined below. Students must fulfill a minimum three-year residency, pass all required courses, and have a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.0 in musical studies and liberal arts courses.

Curriculum. The Curtis curriculum is designed to meet students where they are in their musical journeys and to offer instruction, guidance, and inspiration as they pursue their goals. Students are given the opportunity to study technique and artistic expression in order to deepen their musicality and nurture their unique voices.
