Born in Darlington, Lee started his professional career as drummer with Little Angels, a band from Scarborough who became one of the primary British rock acts of the early 1990s. Lee was replaced in Little Angels during their Young Gods tour by Mark Richardson , after it was discovered he had auditioned for the Cult behind their backs.
Little Angels es una banda que se formó en Scarborough, 1 Inglaterra en 1984, bajo el nombre de Sr. Thrud. Los socios fundadores eran Toby Jepson (el cantante), Mark Plunkett (el bajista), Dave Hopper (el tambor) y los hermanos Bruce John Dickinson y Jimmy Dickinson (el guitarrista y keyboardist respectivamente).
Mark Richardson joined the band on drums in time for their third album, Jam, Still, the group's fanbase at home continued to grow, and 1993's Jam even debuted at the top of the British charts. To the surprise of many, Little Angels then disbanded, with the 1994 release of the retrospective Little of the Past marking their passing.
