Triumph des Willens gilt als ein politisch und moralisch zweifelhafter, filmgeschichtlich und ästhetisch aber dennoch bedeutsamer Film. Riefenstahl gewann mehrere Preise in Deutschland, in den Vereinigten Staaten , Frankreich , Schweden und anderen Ländern. 1937 wurde Riefenstahl für diesen Film während der Pariser Weltausstellung mit einer Goldmedaille ausgezeichnet.
