Fredric March (born Ernest Frederick McIntyre Bickel; August 31, 1897 – April 14, 1975) was an American actor, regarded as one of Hollywood's most celebrated stars of the 1930s and 1940s. As a performer he was known for his versatility.
Actor: Inherit the Wind. Fredric March began a career in banking but in 1920 found himself cast as an extra in films being produced in New York. He starred on the Broadway stage first in 1926 and would return there between screen appearances later on.
One of the greatest stars of the 30's, Fredric March was excellent and prolific and made many excellent movies in the decade. His transition to the 40's through the 70's even. elevated his stature in film, with memorable characterizations.
