The film meant for the camera is 35 mm with 24 exposures. This is wrong. Not sure how you came to that conclusion, but it is false. The camera will take 36 exposure rolls with no issue.

I got a nikonos II and used it on a few dives this week, shot two rolls of film and took them into the lab. When the lab sent me the scans, I got 6 photos on the 1st roll and only 2 on the second roll but I shot 24 exposures on a 36 exposure roll for each.
