“The Boys in the Boat” tells the story of the 1936 University of Washington eight-oared rowing crew that represented the United States at the Berlin Olympics and ended up winning the gold medal, defeating, among others, Hitler’s German crew. It is a feel-good story that is true. No plot spoilers because everything that happens is predictable.
June 12 – Of the Tossing of Many Books. Of making many books there is no end, and much study is a weariness of the flesh. – Ecclesiastes 12:12. The wisdom of the Preacher of Ecclesiastes has stood the test of time. I’m not sure I’ve always taken his advice, however, and as we prepare for our move, we are fully aware of the many books issue.
I am a pastor in the Evangelical Presbyterian Church. My wife Becky and I retired to Auburn, Indiana, in 2020 after 45 years of full-time ministry including service from California to Oregon to Michigan to Pennsylvania.
1. Feb. 2022 · Rev. Bill Teague. Dr. King’s dream of the beloved community has been the key to Bill Teague’s entire life. Every time the Forest Park resident drives east on Madison Street into the city, he is reminded of the community he came from. “I grew up on the West Side of Chicago,” he said.
Bill Teague is known for Young Joe, the Forgotten Kennedy (1977), Evita Peron (1981) and The Winds of Kitty Hawk (1978).
25. Dez. 2020 · Bill Truman Teague (age 83) passed away peacefully at his Nacogdoches home on December 25, 2020. Bill was born October 24, 1937, in Freer, Texas, to Carl Leroy Teague and Gladys Ethel Wade Teague, who both preceded him in death.
