16. Sept. 2024 · The sounds and styles of the late 80s / early 90s New Jack Swing have a special place in my heart, and evoke a nostalgic feeling. I love the timbres of the synthesizers and recording technology of that time period, and the danceability of the arrangements and production.
17. Sept. 2024 · The other branch of New Jack Swing rhythm, which interestingly neither Jam/Lewis nor Babyface/Reid really got into, was the TR-909 sound. The most famous New Jack Swing song to use the 909 was undoubtedly "Keep on Moving" by Soul II Soul:

Vor 4 Tagen · Return of New Jack Swing. After the 80's E-Funk/Disco revival in the last decade, it's great to see today's kids picking up New Jack Swing. 31 million views for a NJS ballad in two months, not bad at all. (I'm keeping my fingers crossed they don't discover Grunge though.)

Though officially credited to the production techniques of Teddy Riley, Ripani theorized Riley was influenced by Jackson's 1986 single "Nasty", which also features a distinctive triplet swing.
