Vor 5 Tagen · Steely Dan’s lyrics were always meant to paint pictures of the seediest characters you’ve ever heard, and hearing his blue-eyed soul croon is like hearing someone like Brian Wilson try to be Lou Reed half the time. Countdown to Ecstasy did at least attempt to fix the problem, but the production ended up suffering a little bit on the way out.

Clever lyrics as well, "Nothing but blues and Elvis and somebody else's favorite song", lol so true! The guitar-outro one is the better version in my opinion.
Third World Man was likely the first on Gaucho to be recorded. They did most of it during the Aja sessions, then brought it back out and finished it. Probably the first to be written too, but who knows. Sometimes song ideas bounce around for years. 4.
