1. Juni 2024 · The title of the short, Cash and Carry, is a play on words, with “cash and carry” referring to a method of payment for wholesale goods. Nick Copeland and Lew Davis reprise their roles as con men who try to swindle The Three Stooges in the very next short film, Playing the Ponies.
They were Lithuanian-Jewish immigrants and anglicized their names from Gorovitz to Horwitz, later changed to Howard by the boys. The oldest two sons, Irving and Jack were both insurance salesman. Their parents wanted Moe, Shemp, and Curly to follow suit.
