Horning twisted a knee when hit by the Vikings Cliff Livingston as the Packer halfback rammed into the line on a Green Bay touchdown bid. The Packers won 48-21.

Hornung’s broadcast career led him to get a cameo in the 1977 film, Semi-Tough, which starred Burt Reynolds and Kris Kristofferson.
