Vor 23 Stunden · Nun, über den Rest der Platte retten Jonis Lyrics und Stimme einigermaßen hinweg und der Titelsong „The Hissing of Summer Lawns“ lässt noch die alte Brillanz durchschimmern, aber insgesamt bin ich ziemlich enttäuscht, denn das Album erscheint mir in keiner Weise eine Weiterentwicklung darzustellen, sondern eher einen Rückschritt, einen Holzweg.

Her music after For The Roses isn't fully jazz but more jazz-influenced folk and rock (with the exception of Mingus). Court and Spark is a pop-rock album with jazz influences. The Hissing of Summer Lawns is a little more experimental and more jazz-influenced but it's still has that soft rock sound for the most part. Hejira is a jazz-folk fusion.
