I want to build a kit as Roland from “Roland the headless Thompson gunner” I got the Biafra patch, the Thompson, and Belgian brushstroke but how do I remove my head? Any tips?
“Roland The Headless Thompson Gunner” was co-written by David Lindell who Zevon met in 1973 while Zevon was visiting Spain. The song is about a fictional character who gets involved in the Nigerian civil war and the Congo Crisis of the 1960’s. Lindell actually served as a Mercenary In Africa.
Okay so recently I got into Tom Lehrer's crazy songs like "So long mom, I'm off to drop the bomb" and even more recently, Ruth Wallis' crazy stuff, and this made me realise that there are TONNNNS of hilarious or shocking old songs with funny topics and/or 'wtf moments' sprinkled throyghout that I'm missing simply cos I'd dismissed them as old.
