The Union Army occupied the city for the remainder of the Civil War and the Wren Building was used as a hospital during the Union occupation of the area.

  7. Though I don’t think this counts as a traditional transfer, someone suggested I post on this subreddit to get more feedback. UVA offers a program where waitlisted in state students can transfer to Charlottesville after going to their campus at Wise (rural, very small, appalachian mountains bordering TN) for a year as long as they have a 3.0 gpa.
