Esa-Pekka Salonen is a Finnish composer and conductor. He was the music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, is composer in residence at the New York Philharmonic, is the principal conductor of the Philharmonia Orchestra, and is the founder and artistic director of the Baltic Sea Festival.
Esa-Pekka Salonen KBE (pronounced [ˈesɑˌpekːɑ ˈsɑlonen] ⓘ; born 30 June 1958) is a Finnish conductor and composer. He was the music director of the San Francisco Symphony and conductor laureate of the Los Angeles Philharmonic , Philharmonia Orchestra in London and the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra .
Esa-Pekka Salonen (s. 30. kesäkuuta 1958 Helsinki) on suomalainen kapellimestari ja säveltäjä. Hän toimii San Franciscon sinfoniaorkesterin musiikillisena johtajana vuodesta 2020. Kauden 2020–2021 loppuun saakka hän toimi myös Lontoossa toimivan Philharmonia-orkesterin ylikapellimestarina.

He was the music director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic for 17 years, during which time he was responsible for the building of Frank Gehry's Walt Disney Concert Hall. He is currently the Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor of London's Philharmonia Orchestra.
