Vor 3 Tagen · The Honourable Artillery Company ( HAC) is a reserve regiment in the British Army. Incorporated by royal charter in 1537 by King Henry VIII, it is the oldest regiment in the British Army and is considered the second-oldest military unit in the world.

10. Mai 2024 · Moorfields was contiguous with Finsbury Fields, Bunhill Fields and other open spaces. The fields were divided into four areas; the Little Moorfields, Moorfields proper, Middle Moorfields and Upper Moorfields.

It is generally supposed that the Bunhill Fields Cemetery was the site of the Great Plague pit, so powerfully described (from hearsay) by Defoe.

Fleetwood acquired by his marriage in 1664 to Mary, daughter of Sir John Coke and widow of Sir Edward Hartopp, an estate in Stoke Newington, then a village north of London; Fleetwood House, next to Abney House on Church Street was named after him.
