27. Mai 2024 · Col. David M. Shoup and Lt. Col. Henry P. "Jim" Crowe also appeared in the movie as themselves. Col. Shoup won the Congressional Medal of Honor at Tarawa and went on to become the Commandant of the Marine Corps. Lt. Col. Crowe earned the US Navy Cross at Tarawa.
