Mai 2024 · In 1856 the Ecclesiastical Commissioners sold 539 a. of the manor to the tenant Henry Petty-Fitzmaurice, marquess of Lansdowne, the owner of Bowood House, and about then the rest of the manor, c. 150 a., was bought by George Walker Heneage, the tenant of that land and the lord of Compton Bassett manor.
