18. Mai 2024 · In November Lady Denham fell sick, rallied, relapsed and in the following January died. It was said that she thought she had been poisoned 'in a cup of chocolate'. Rumour credited various people with the deed, including her husband and the Duke of York's supposedly aggrieved wife, the daughter of Denham's intended neighbour at Clarendon House. But a post-mortem discovered no sign of poison.
