The college portraits acquired before 1926 have been catalogued by Mrs. R. L. Poole, (fn. 56) the most interesting artistically being the fifteen portraits in pastel, drawn between 1779 and 1796 by Lewis Vaslet of Bath.

We are delighted to announce the results of the 2024 Louis MacNeice Creative Writing Prize. The poems and stories were all judged anonymously and, as ever, competition was fierce with a total of 16 poems and 13 short stories entered.

The college was first founded by Walter de Merton, later Bishop of Rochester, in 1264 and moved to Oxford in 1274.
