Before forming Genesis, leader Jack Ttanna had played with psych legends The Sons Of Adam, while guitarist Kent Henry would go on to join Steppenwolf. Their Superb musicianship is showcased throughout this criminally overlooked album, the only one the band ever released.

Forget the UK band (I enjoy the UK band especially the 1970-77 era), this Genesis very much stands on its own, particularly if you love West Coast psych. The group consisted of Jack Ttanna on vocals and guitar, Kent Henry on additional guitar, Fred Rivera on bass, Bob Metke on drums and Sue Richman on vocals. This album is underrated probably ...

The result was Randy reforming the Fender IV group with original rhythm guitarist, Joe Kooken (aka: Jac Ttanna). The additional musicians for the show were Matt Quilter on bass and Dusty Watson (who has played for Dick Dale) on drums. Subsequently, a DVD of the concert was released.
I knew guitarist Jac Ttanna had been a member of the L.A.-based Fender IV and The Sons of Adam (he played under his given name Joe Kooken) and that was about it. Luckily I found Ttanna's website where he talked a bit about the band. Hopefully he'll be okay with me borrowing those reflections:

Somewhat mystically and mysteriously gets also acoustically poignant Girl Who Never Was. The album ends monumental World Without You with intricate, great guitar solo Jack Ttanna.
