Johann II Bernoulli war ein Schweizer Mathematiker, Physiker und Jurist aus der berühmten Basler Mathematiker-Familie Bernoulli.
Johann II Bernoulli (also known as Jean; 18 May 1710 in Basel – 17 July 1790 in Basel) was the youngest of the three sons of the Swiss mathematician Johann Bernoulli. He studied law and mathematics, and, after travelling in France, was for five years professor of eloquence in the university of his native city.
Biography. Johann (II) Bernoulli was one of three sons of Johann Bernoulli. In fact he was the most successful of the three. He originally studied law and in 1727 he obtained the degree of doctor of jurisprudence. He worked on mathematics both with his father and as an independent worker.
Johann II, geb. 18.5.1710 Basel, gest. 17.7.1790 Basel. Johann II studierte Mathematik bei seinem Vater Johann I und Jura an der Universität. Nach ausgedehnten Reisen wurde er 1743 Professor der Eloquenz und 1748 Professor der Mathematik in Basel.
