Lucian Nethsingha (3 May 1936 − 12 February 2021) was a British musician born in Ceylon, who served as organist of Exeter Cathedral from 1973 to 1999. He was the father of Andrew Nethsingha, the current organist and master of the choristers at Westminster Abbey.
12. März 2021 · LUCIAN NETHSINGHA was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka, in 1936, and grew up in the country that he always referred to as Ceylon. At St Thomas’ College, he was picked out for his outstanding talent by the chaplain and choirmaster, Canon Roy Lin, who, having been chaplain of King’s College, Cambridge, encouraged Lucian’s parents to let Lucian continue his studies in England.

Lucian Nethsingha. Organist and Master of the Choristers, 1972-1999. It is very sad to report that Lucian Nethsingha died peacefully on Friday 12th February 2021. Lucian was at a local hospice in Cambridge, but retained his sense of humour and optimism to the end. He had been watching Test Match Cricket on the day he died.
