The Hoochie Coochie Men's second studio album, Danger. White Men Dancing features guest performances from vocalists Ian Gillan, Jimmy Barnes and Jeff Duff. The Hoochie Coochie Men was also the name of the All-Stars in 1964 when Cyril Davies died and Long John Baldry took the band over and renamed it.

Long John Baldry became a regular fixture on Sunday nights at Eel Pie Island from then onwards, fronting a series of bands. In 1965, the Hoochie Coochie Men became Steampacket with Baldry and Stewart as male vocalists, Julie Driscoll as the female vocalist and Brian Auger on Hammond organ.

Als Cyril Davis 1964 starb, führte Baldry die Band unter dem Namen Hoochie Coochie Men weiter. Ein weiteres Mitglied der Hoochie Coochie Men war Rod Stewart. Baldry und Stewart gründeten 1965 die Band Steampacket, zu der auch Brian Auger und Julie Driscoll gehörten.
Hoochie Coochie Men nahmen nur ein Album auf, Long John's Blues (1964), bevor sie sich 1965 auflösten. Stewart und Baldry gründeten anschließend die Band The Steampacket . Später nutzten andere Bands den Namen, so etwa eine 2001 von Bob Daisley mit dem Gitarristen Tim Gaze gegründete australische Band, mit der Jon Lord auftrat.
