Many musicians and backing vocalists from Bat Out of Hell performed on Bad for Good, including Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg from Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band. Richard Corben illustrated the cover, as he had done for Bat Out of Hell .
Bad for Good ist das Debütalbum und zugleich das einzige Album des verstorbenen Komponisten und Sängers Jim Steinman. Es wurde 1981 veröffentlicht. Das komplett von Jim Steinman komponierte Album wurde größtenteils von ihm gesungen. Einige Titel wurden von Rory Dodd interpretiert.
Following those sessions, Bittan regularly and nearly exclusively collaborated with Steinman, appearing on three more Meat Loaf albums (most notably Bat Out of Hell II: Back into Hell), Steinman's solo album Bad for Good, an Air Supply single, a Barbra Streisand single, an album by Pandora's Box, Total Eclipse of the Heart, and others.

Roy Bittan wurde am 2. Juli 1949 in Rockaway Beach, NY geboren. Seit 1974 gehört er der E Street Band an und war massgeblich an der Produktion des dritten Springsteen Album " Born to Run " beteiligt. Auch als die E Street Band im Jahre 1989 zeitweise aufgelöst wurde, blieb er dem "Boss" treu.
