5. Nov. 2020 · Guitarist John Till and the late bassist Ken Kalmusky, original members of Stratford-based teenaged rock band the Revols that later enjoyed international success with the likes of Ronnie Hawkins, Janis Joplin, and Ian and Sylvia, among others, are this year’s Bronze Star recipients.
20. Apr. 2019 · Richard Manuel was the first member of The Revols to depart when he joined Ronnie Hakwins’ band. Kalmusky later followed suit and was picked up by Albert Grossman to be part of Ian and Sylvia after playing for Hawkins.
6. Sept. 2022 · The Stratford guitarist and member of the 1950s/1960s Stratford rock band, The Revols, died peacefully in his sleep at home in Stratford Sunday after a long battle with an extended illness.
His first band, The Revols, played in the southern Ontario area in the late 1950s and very early 1960s. The members of The Revols were Kalmusky on bass, John Till ( Janis Joplin 's Full Tilt Boogie Band) on guitar, and Richard Manuel ( The Band , Bob Dylan ) on piano and lead vocal.
